4 Life Lessons I Learned After Working With Steve Harvey

Here are 4 life lessons I learned from Steve Harvey after getting the chance to work with him for a month.

In case you did not know, Steve Harvey is a famous television host, producer, actor, and comedian. Over the span of his career, he has made many people laugh, cry, and even inspired a ton of people around the world. I was lucky to have met him.

I met the legendary Steve Harvey in Dubai when I was traveling around the world with a famous content creator, Nas Daily. We were tasked with an extremely challenging project, where we needed to complete a total of 5 videos in just a week.

Yup, we had to script, film and edit everything from scratch.

Although it was a tough job, it was an amazing experience and I was lucky enough to learn 4 life lessons from Steve Harvey that I still use in my life today.

So in this article, I want to share those lessons with you:

  1. Success And Happiness Is A Process
  2. Always Believe In Yourself
  3. Love And Family Are Important
  4. Failure Is Only A Delay, Not Defeat

1. Success And Happiness Is A Process

We often forget that anything that is accomplished or brings us joy is all created because of something we did.

When you finally get that dream job or look fondly upon your children, it all happened because you did something to achieve that. 

That is what Steve Harvey taught me when he shared the struggles he had to overcome to reach his level of success today.

No one saw his struggles with stuttering when he was learning how to speak for stage hosting.
No one realized the pain he felt when he was homeless when we see him laughing on TV.
And no one understood the failures he had to go through when we see him making jokes in front of hundreds and thousands of audience.

But those lessons are the ones that taught him to be truly happy.

This is why success and happiness are never given but earned through working toward them.

2. Always Believe In Yourself 

When we asked Steve Harvey why he didn’t give up through these tough times, he told us that it was because he always believed in himself even when everyone else did not. 

He kept a strong faith and kept moving forward no matter how long it took. It was all these learnings, patience, and endurance that kept him going until he finally achieved his big break at 40 years old.

The lesson here is as long as you keep believing and keep working hard at your dream, eventually, you will get there.

3. Love And Family Are Important

We all know that having a good career and millions of dollars is never going to make you truly happy. That is where love and family come in.

Steve Harvey had two failed marriages before he found the love of his life, so he knows that true love and a strong family bond are important because those are priceless and rare to have, and we should never take them for granted. 

4. Failure Is Only A Delay, Not Defeat

Personally, the words above are something I live by but it also ties in with Steve Harvey’s story.

He took 13 years of constant stand-up comedy gigs and working in-between jobs to finally get his big break.

If he were to quit after his first failure or his 1,000th, he would not be able to be who he is today and bring so many smiles to the world.

This is why failure is just another stepping stone to improving and being better. As long as you never quit, you will never be defeated.

In conclusion, whatever your goals are, always trust and have faith in the things you do. I also hope that these 4 life lessons from Steve Harvey will guide and support you as much as they did for me:
